IESSI is a non-alcoholic aperitif with Italian roots - born from memories of long summer evenings in Friuli, in northeastern Italy. There, founder Nico Maiarelli discovered the world of bitter flavors with his Nonna Eda: fermented vegetables, smoked ricotta - and her legendary homemade herb amaro. Always served ice cold. Always part of a little ritual.

Later, between New York and Paris, this taste never left him. Maiarelli began to rethink the recipe: less digéstif, more aperitif - brighter, fresher, more citrusy. And at some point it became clear: This should become a non-alcoholic drink that contains everything that counts. Just without alcohol.

To implement his recipe, Nico Maiarelli repeatedly traveled back to northern Italy - to the small port town of Trieste. There, in a family-run distillery not far from his grandparents' house, he found the partners with whom he made the vision of iessi become reality.

We tested, coordinated and refined together for almost a year. Because without alcohol as a carrier, more precision, more sensitivity is needed: bitter orange, cherry, rhubarb, gentian and a touch of chili result in what IESSI is all about today - an alcohol-free aperitif with real weight on the palate, depth in taste and a touch of Italian sunshine in the glass.
